More reasons to shop at the Saddlers Centre.

The Saddlers Shopping Centre is bucking the national and regional trends in footfall by significant margins since the opening of its latest store T J Hughes.

The Saddlers Shopping Centre has seen a substantial increase in footfall since the opening of T J Hughes Department store on the 8th October, 2015.  Footfall has increased by an average of 40,000 per week up until the end of October from a very healthy average level of 130,000 people per week.

Steve Pope, Asset Director of Topland (owners of the Saddlers Centre) is delighted with the new letting to T J Hughes and hopes that the footfall will continue to increase during the build up to the Christmas period.

T J Hughes has taken over 30,000 sq. ft. (previously occupied by Argos) and the new store gives customers more reasons to ‘shop local’ as they have a fantastic range of goods everything from Home and Furniture, Garden and Outdoor, Beds and bedding Travel, Electricals, Ladies and Men’s Fashion,  Fragrance and Beauty and even Toys and Games.    As Steve Pope confirms,  when they purchased the centre back in 2013 (February) the company’s plan was to give the Saddlers Centre loyal customers a better shopping experience and greater choice and diversity in the shopping environment.

“We are pleased with the progress we have made at the scheme during the year, especially the new let to T j Hughes.   Everyone involved with the scheme has worked hard to deliver this plan and Topland’s intensive management style has paid off.   We also ‘kick’ started a Food Hub (in May 2015) introducing fast food operator Burger King to the Scheme giving our customers an expanded food offer and more choice and we will continue to grow the Food Hub next year.”   The most recent success apart from the let to T J Hughes is also the letting to the NHS, as the new Walk-in-Centre on Bridgeman Street is nearing completion and will open its doors in the middle of January, 2016

Steve Pope comments “We are definitely ending the year at the Saddlers in a much better position with a new expanded food offer and new department store which gives customers an improved shopping offer alongside additional services in the form of the NHS Walk-in-Centre creating more reasons to shop in the Saddlers Shopping Centre and Walsall Town Centre.”

Cushman & Wakefield (Birmingham Office) are the managing agents for the Saddlers Shopping Centre and the letting agents are Jones Lang LaSalle, London Office and Wright Silverwood, Birmingham.
