The Royal Crescent Hotel, Bath

In Spring 2012, Topland acquired the Royal Crescent Hotel. This significant and renowned luxury hotel is situated in Bath and occupies the two central buildings of the internationally celebrated Royal Crescent and consists of 45 rooms and suites.

The Grade One listed buildings were designed by famous Georgian architect John Wood, and were first occupied in 1775.

When the property was bought it was in need of a great deal of of refurbishment and Topland are currently overseeing a multi-million pound extensive renovation of the entire hotel to further enhance the five star luxury experience for guests.

The Hallmark Hotel Group was created in 2015 by bringing together three Topland-owned hotel portfolios and consists of 28 hotels throughout the UK with a total of 2,700 rooms. The group’s performance is actively managed and overseen by Topland’s in-house team.

In November 2013 Topland acquired The Menzies Hotel Portfolio which consisted of 12 four star hotels in various locations including Stratford upon Avon, Bournemouth, London, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Topland’s hotel portfolio was expanded by the purchase of the Hallmark portfolio in August 2014. This added seven four star hotels and one three star hotel in various locations including Manchester, Carlisle, Croydon, Gloucester and Derby. A further two four star hotels and six three star hotels were included in the Topland Group Hotel Portfolio when the Feathers portfolio was purchased in January 2015 with hotels in Chester, Manchester, Liverpool and Preston.

In 2015 the decision was made to rebrand. The hotels in the Menzies portfolio became Hallmark Hotels in September 2015 followed by the Feathers portfolio in March 2016.

Topland’s investment in the group includes the refurbishment of bedrooms and conference rooms, new gym equipment across the leisure clubs and an enhanced golf and spa offering.
