Major Birmingham resi scheme completes as part of Paradise regen

19/02/2024

The landmark new Birmingham city centre residential development Paradise View has now been completed by developer Topland and partner CoLico Living.

The £25 million development includes 159 build-to-rent apartments, 5,000 sq ft of retail space, residents amenity space and a 24 hour gym operated by Anytime Fitness.

Paradise View also includes a co-working space; media and TV lounge, cycle parking for up to 90 bikes and a rooftop terrace.

Viewings are currently open across the scheme’s luxury studios, one, two and three-bedroom apartments, with the first tenants expected to take residence in February 2024.

The completion brings new life to the city’s former Beneficial Building, which had previously comprised offices and Snobs nightclub, but had laid unoccupied for 13 years. The building was reconfigured retaining much of the existing structure to ensure Topland continues to achieve the lowest carbon impact possible.

The site was acquired in February 2022, with the reimagining by Topland – one of the UK’s largest privately-owned investment groups – being delivered by BAM Construction.

The site sits immediately adjacent to the city’s £700m Paradise district; the biggest city centre regeneration scheme outside London, which includes 120,000 sq ft of retail space, three new public squares and Grade A sustainable offices.

Sol Zakay, chairman and CEO of Topland Group, said: “Paradise View is set to be a real asset for the city of Birmingham, transforming a dormant building into high-quality housing and amenities that perfectly complement the wider £700 million regeneration of Paradise.

“We’re proud to have played our part in the rejuvenation of this city centre neighbourhood which will now become one of Birmingham’s most desirable places to live and work. We look forward to seeing it becoming a key asset for Paradise as we continue to support regeneration across the UK as an investor, developer and lender.”
