Verdant, Aldersgate
The City of London

Verdant is a stunning new office development of 135,500 sqft designed by international award-winning Fletcher Priest Architects. The building was erected in a sustained and wellness-focused design with high quality urban greening on all terraces throughout the building. The build will obtain the highest environmental credentials with practical completion scheduled for the end of 2024. The building has been fully let.

Dalata Maldron Hotel

Adjacent to the Brighton Doubletree, Topland Group is well progressed on the development of a new 221 bed hotel. The hotel has been pre-let for 35 years to listed hotel group Dalata for a new, Maldron branded hotel. The hotel is due for completion in February 2024 and is targeting BREEAM Excellent.

A new 45,000 sqft warehouse on this established estate in the heart of the West Midlands has recently completed and is fully let. Topland secured planning consent to demolish a redundant, vacant office block and replace it with this modern warehouse with 12m eaves, level access doors, extensive yardage and parking. The development has very strong environmental credentials.

Paradise View

Repositioning of a redundant office property in the centre of Birmingham, to a best-in-class 159-unit Build-to-Rent investment with ample amenities, including co-working facilities and place-making retail & leisure provision. Completion expected towards the end of 2023.

Mark Kingston

Managing Director

Mark is the Managing Director of the Topland Group, having joined the business in 2012. Mark heads the Group’s Investment Committee and sits on the Group’s main Board. He has 35 years of experience in real estate, previously working as a partner in commercial real estate and development at Nabarros. Mark has also held senior leadership roles at Barclays Capital and RBS, and spent 10 years as Managing Director and Head of UK at Tishman Speyer.

David Sanderson

Investment Director

David is Investment Director and a member of the Topland Group Investment Committee and main Board. David joined the Topland Group in 2016 and now heads up acquisitions and disposals on the equity side, as well as working across asset management on the company’s portfolio. David has 15 years of experience in real estate; covering investment and operational businesses. David is a member of the RICS, and is a qualified lawyer, having been called to the Bar at Middle Temple in 2011.

Steve Pope

Group Director of Property & Asset Management

Steve is Director of Property and Asset Management and has been with the Group since 2000. Steve has extensive experience in both asset management and development and is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Group’s multi-billion pound portfolio. Prior to joining Topland Steve held senior management roles at both L&G Property and Capital & Regional. Steve was involved in two of Topland’s largest sale & leaseback transactions with Marks & Spencer (2001) and Tesco (2005).

William Davies

Director of Asset Management

William is a Director of Asset Management dealing with added value opportunities across the portfolio and has been with Topland since 2012.  William brings over 30 years of experience with a background in investment agency leading to over 20 years working in asset management and development for proactive property companies.  His experience covers all asset classes and recent highlights include overseeing the complete refurbishment of the 323-bed Brighton Metropole Hotel as well as successfully obtaining planning permission for a 1,200 unit Purpose Built Student Accommodation scheme in Warwick.

Alex Bailey

Development Manager

Alex is a Development Manager whose role involves feasibility reviews for potential development work along with the management of live redevelopment schemes across the project lifecycle. Alex has 15 year’s experience in the Construction & Property industry across multiple sectors, holding both Client and Consultant side roles. With a primary focus on delivery of Commercial and Residential schemes in London, working with Private investors and Institutional Clients.  He is a member of the CIOB and holds a BSc in Project Management for Construction from UCL.
