Mark is the Managing Director of the Topland Group, having joined the business in 2012. Mark heads the Group’s Investment Committee and sits on the Group’s main Board. He has 35 years of experience in real estate, previously working as a partner in commercial real estate and development at Nabarros. Mark has also held senior leadership roles at Barclays Capital and RBS, and spent 10 years as Managing Director and Head of UK at Tishman Speyer.

Tom is a member of the Group’s Investment Committee and main Board and leads the Structured Finance division of the Group. Tom has been with Topland since 2000, bringing over three decades of experience to the business. Tom set up the Group’s lending division in 2014, deploying over £1 billion in loans to date and establishing Topland as a key player in the alternative lenders market. Prior to joining Topland Tom held senior finance roles in both Barclays Bank Plc and Aviva.  

Terence leads the Topland Group finance function (which includes treasury and tax) and as a member of the Group’s Investment Committee and main Board is involved in strategy, investment and transactions. Terence is an experienced finance professional, having held senior management roles at a number of large corporations including Capital & Counties Properties Plc and J Sainsbury Plc. Terence is a qualified Chartered Account (FCA) and Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) having originally trained with KPMG in Dublin. Terence joined the Topland Group in May 2020.

David is Investment Director and a member of the Topland Group Investment Committee and main Board. David joined the Topland Group in 2016 and now heads up acquisitions and disposals on the equity side, as well as working across asset management on the company’s portfolio. David has 15 years of experience in real estate; covering investment and operational businesses. David is a member of the RICS, and is a qualified lawyer, having been called to the Bar at Middle Temple in 2011. 

Antony is a Director within the Structured Finance Team and a member of the Group Investment Committee, having joined Topland in 2012. Antony has 25 years of property finance experience across private equity joint venture funding, banking, principal investment, and property development. During his career, Antony has advised and led on a broad range of real estate investment and development transactions and has over 5 years of bank restructuring experience.

Steve is Director of Property and Asset Management and has been with the Group since 2000. Steve has extensive experience in both asset management and development and is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Group’s multi-billion pound portfolio. Prior to joining Topland Steve held senior management roles at both L&G Property and Capital & Regional. Steve was involved in two of Topland’s largest sale & leaseback transactions with Marks & Spencer (2001) and Tesco (2005). 

William is a Director of Asset Management dealing with added value opportunities across the portfolio and has been with Topland since 2012.  William brings over 30 years of experience with a background in investment agency leading to over 20 years working in asset management and development for proactive property companies.  His experience covers all asset classes and recent highlights include overseeing the complete refurbishment of the 323-bed Brighton Metropole Hotel as well as successfully obtaining planning permission for a 1,200 unit Purpose Built Student Accommodation scheme in Warwick.

Ben is a Director and board member of the Topland Vintage Group of Companies. Ben’s role is focused on investment and development from both an equity and structured finance perspective, as well as asset management initiatives within the company’s portfolio. Ben has 10 years of real estate experience, and has an MSc in Real Estate Finance and Investment from Cass Business School. He is also a member of the RICS.

Ryan is an investment manager whose role involves originating and underwriting new acquisitions and joint venture opportunities on the equity side of the business as well as being involved in the asset management of some of our existing portfolio. Ryan has over a decade of experience in real estate with a primary focus on investment and development acquisitions across all sectors. He is a member of the RICS and holds an MSc in Real Estate from Cass Business School.

Scott is the Director of Property Management, having been with Topland since 2013. A well-developed property manager bringing a wealth of experience in all aspects of Property Management. He works across all aspects of the business, with a strong focus on problem-solving to ensure that Topland property management is running smoothly.

Alex is a Development Manager whose role involves feasibility reviews for potential development work along with the management of live redevelopment schemes across the project lifecycle. Alex has 15 year’s experience in the Construction & Property industry across multiple sectors, holding both Client and Consultant side roles. With a primary focus on delivery of Commercial and Residential schemes in London, working with Private investors and Institutional Clients.  He is a member of the CIOB and holds a BSc in Project Management for Construction from UCL.

James has 15 years of Real Estate experience across a variety of roles and asset classes. He began his career with Nat West group as part of their Graduate programme in 2008 and since then has had exposure to bilateral and syndicated loans as well as regulated lending. Prior to joining Topland, James worked at Credit-Suisse as part of their Wealth Management Team. He is a member of the Associated Property Lender, a Chartered Banker and is CFA qualified.

Charlie is a Chartered Planning and Development Surveyor, having joined Topland in early 2018. Starting his career with Berkeley Homes as a Land Buyer, Charlie has worked in development and bridging finance for over a decade. Offering structured debt and equity, Charlie has funded a broad range of deals, including hotels, leisure, offices and residential, with various land and infrastructure deals also completed to date.

Anish is a senior member of the structured finance team, having joined the Topland Group in 2021 from Pluto. Anish has involvement across the full deal cycle, from origination to redemption. Having been involved in real estate transactions of over £600M, Anish has established strong relationships with developers, intermediaries, and professionals across the real estate industry.

Tom is Investment and Development Manager within the Structured Finance Team, responsible for originating and managing both debt and equity investments. Tom has worked on projects involving strategic land loans, residential JVs, development land loans, education loans, supported living JVs and co-lending projects. Tom has been with the Topland Group for over 5 years.

Edward is an Asset Manager dealing with value-add opportunities across the nationwide mixed asset class portfolio. Edward works closely with Group Head Steve Pope and Director of Aset Management William Davies on their respective portfolios and has been at Topland since 2022 having joined as an Asset Manager from the UK’s largest small & medium sized business Landlord, The Arch Company. Edward has 8 years of Real Estate experience and has a BSc in Real Estate from the University of Reading. He has also been a member of the RICS since 2018.

Sami is a property manager, coming from a prime residential block and facilities management background, with a strong focus on building relationships and delivering solutions. Sami’s ethos is to garner a holistic understanding and knowledge of the asset,  ensuring she can drive efficiency and performance for both the property and our tenants.

Colin is an experienced Property Manager with a hands-on approach, who brings a wealth of knowledge gained over 15 years in commercial property management. After joining Topland in 2022 from JLL, he works across the varied building classes within the portfolio. A problem solver, with expertise in facilities and compliance management. This, combined with a practical cost saving mentality, sharpens his focus to ensure the portfolio offers a safe environment whilst maintaining our high standards.

As Group Financial Controller, Andrew oversees the operational aspects of the finance function and has been with the Group for 17 years.  Andrew has been working within the commercial property sector for more than 30 years having previously held similar senior finance roles with Randsworth Trust, Ivory Gate and Benchmark Group.  Andrew is a qualified Chartered Account (FCA) having trained with KPMG.

As Senior Financial Analyst within the Group’s finance function, Christina, is responsible for the financial modelling, forecasting, and corporate transactions as well as leading the finance function on a number of property Joint Ventures. Prior to Topland, Christina worked at private equity firm SVG Capital and real estate firm Internos Global Investors. Christina is a Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA).

Irfan works as Senior Commercial Finance Manager at Topland, having joined from HSBC Asset Management. In his current role, he works closely with the Finance, Property, Structured Finance, and the Investment teams at Topland, overseeing the finance function on a number of large development projects. Irfan manages the liquidity and cash management, lender reporting, and group audit. Irfan is a Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA).

As Group Head of Tax, Ben covers all advisory and compliance tax matters relevant to the Topland Group. Ben joined in April 2023 from CLS Holdings plc, a FTSE 250 listed European real estate group. He is a qualified chartered accountant with over 25 years UK and international tax experience, starting his career with Ernst & Young in London and Sydney before moving in-house to senior tax roles with Deutsche Bank, GE Capital and National Grid.

Natalia acts as Company Secretary, Compliance Officer and Head of HR and is a dual-qualified lawyer with over 8 years of in-house legal and compliance experience, having worked for multiple companies including Allianz and Aon and as Legal & Compliance Director at Capital Plus Partners and Associate at Keystone Law. She has experience in all aspects of corporate, business and commercial law, securities and investments, risk management and governance. Natalia has also worked as Compliance Consultant in multicultural environments, deploying complete business ethics structures.

As Topland’s in-house Counsel, Robin provides legal and compliance support to the Group, helping the deal teams in the structuring and implementation of a broad range of investment structures. He works closely with both the structured finance division and the real estate divisions, providing legal and compliance advice across all our projects. Robin joined Topland in 2006 and came in with several years of experience in corporate and commercial law having gained experience in a number of leading City law firms.
